For fear of applying oil to their face, many people turn to micellar waters, wrongly... Explanations.
But what is the problem with micellar waters?
No rinsing or greasy feeling, capable of removing all impurities in one go, they have it all. And yet, to be effective, they contain micelles. And what are these micelles? Surfactants, that is, detergent chemical components, which can be carcinogenic.
They strip away all the impurities in their path... but our hydrolipidic barrier with it! As a result, our skin is weakened, irritated and dried out.
Skin cleansing is essential because it eliminates impurities and allows the skin to breathe, but you have to be careful: overly aggressive skin cleansing damages the skin's natural protective barrier, making it permeable to external aggressions and more sensitive.
In addition, we retain the impurities that we were trying to get rid of because most of the time, micellar water is not rinsed off.
So what to do?
For makeup removal, a vegetable oil is ideal. The oily structure is best suited to absorbing impurities. However, be sure to choose organic, cold-pressed virgin oils. These oils have a strong affinity with the epidermal cell walls and help preserve them, unlike mineral oils derived from petroleum.
The cleansing oil contains organic plum oil, rich in antioxidants. This oil, with its softening properties, also fights against the signs of skin aging while providing tone and softness.
We also recommend using washable organic cotton makeup remover pads instead of disposable cotton pads. In addition to being economical and environmentally friendly, these pads are also healthy for your skin because they contain no pesticide residue or chlorine (used to bleach cotton).
In the shower, our dermatologist experts recommend using a certified organic cold-process soap . Natural soaps are less aggressive and less drying than shower gels and help rebalance bacterial flora. These gentle soaps are ideal for body cleansing but also for facial cleansing. Be careful to choose a superfatted soap with an organic formulation and using the cold saponification method to preserve all the virtues of vegetable oils and glycerin.
