Can you introduce yourself?
My name is France, and I founded the Mikamino brand almost two years ago to design technical, stylish, and durable skincare accessories. I'm also the proud mother of three boys. | ![]() |
What is your background?
I have around fifteen years of experience in marketing. I notably worked for several years on the development of a major skin care brand.
How did you come up with the idea to create Mikamino?
It came at a time when I wanted to find meaning in what I was doing professionally. I wasn't particularly aware of ecology, it was my children who made me move forward by questioning my consumption habits. And it was in my bathroom that I realized that every day, twice a day, I was using cotton pads that I threw away a few minutes after using them. Realizing that every day in France, we throw away 138 million cotton pads and 20 million disposable wipes, I found that absurd. I then created Mikamino in 2021 to design technical skincare accessories, respectful of all skin types and the Planet, certified organic by the most demanding label, made in France, pleasant and beautiful to make you want to use them for a very long time!

With Mikamino, you have taken up the challenge of more responsible consumption. Can you tell us about it?
Indeed, mikamino offers a more responsible consumption dimension by offering reusable accessories, but it goes beyond that. It starts with the choice of fabric, a natural and plant-based material labeled organic GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), the most demanding label that covers the entire environmental aspect (no pesticides or chemicals, reuse of wastewater, etc.) and the social aspect (compliance with the International Labor Organization charter to monitor conditions).
Then comes the choice of textures with a double texture for a double action and a double benefit for the skin. We offer different formats and types of accessories because each ritual is unique (cleansing squares, cleansing gloves, care headbands, etc.). They are as suitable for babies as for adults with this notion of transmitting self-care.
All our accessories are designed, cut, and manufactured in France in a network of workshops that promote the integration of women in need. Cleansing, removing makeup, gently exfoliating, and drying are part of our daily lives.
Using materials that don't pollute the skin or the planet is just the beginning. I wanted to offer skincare accessories that are sustainable but also make you want to use them, so you can love sustainability!
What place does beauty/well-being have in your life?
Skin health and well-being are my passion. It's been in me forever: my mother always taught me that cleansing your skin morning and evening, even when you're tired after a night out, is a priority. It's a ritual that's as deeply rooted as the importance of choosing your products. At the time, I didn't have this "ecological and responsible" dimension, but I've always been drawn to beauty in general.
A childhood memory linked to a perfume, a cream, a transmission of beauty?
Yes, the transmission I was telling you about from my mother on the importance of cleaning your face morning AND evening, even if you don't wear makeup. And I don't know if we can give a brand, but my first products to take care of my skin were Décléor , I still have this very particular smell in memory.
What does Alaena inspire in you?
I've been following Alaena on social media for two years. It's a beautiful (premium) brand that exudes both naturalness and expertise. In my opinion, it's a brand that offers another dimension of beauty.
