Samantha Kerdine is a French designer who creates objects, illustrations, and paintings in her Parisian studio. Meet her.

In 2016, she discovered ceramics as a hobby with François Dubois. After this experience, she opened her own studio and explored the boundaries between everyday objects and works of art. She sees her objects as a way to express her inner thoughts, filled with imaginary landscapes and vivid dreams.

For this new edition of boxes, Samantha has chosen to highlight this requirement, this need to take care of oneself as a special moment, through portraits of women, calm, peaceful, relaxing.

For Alaena, Samantha wanted to question her relationship with her body. For her, each moment of ritual is a moment dedicated to oneself, a real moment of love with oneself, where we leave aside comparisons and judgments. Through this collaboration, Samantha celebrates the female body, using pastel with great poetry, as usual.

In his drawings we observe for example, a woman lying down and lounging, another who looks at herself calmly in the bathroom mirror, or another, who seems to have just come out of the shower, ready to start her day.

Behind each drawing, Samantha imagined stories as if each moment was linked to an Alaena beauty ritual.

“What was also important for me was to live up to the demands that Alaena has for its products. Everything is organic, without chemical inputs, the packaging is recyclable, It's made in France but it's also a family story and more particularly a story of women."
