Meet Claire, Naturopath & Yoga Teacher in Paris

Rencontre avec Claire, Naturopathe & Prof de Yoga à Paris

Can you quickly introduce yourself ?

I'm Claire, originally from Sweden and living in Paris since 2006. I'm a holistic health and beauty coach - a certified naturopath and yoga/meditation teacher. I create wellness events, workshops, and retreats, and I'm the author of the book Détox Zéro bla-bla (Detox Zero Bla-Bla) published by Marabout.

What are the 3 nutritional tips you would give our readers to eat healthier?

1. Focus first on quality because there is a whole world between cheap meat and meat from small, respectful farms fed without antibiotics and other elements harmful to the animal and to us.

2. Eat mindfully, slowly and relaxed to optimize the assimilation of essential nutrients.

3. Regularly take “digestive breaks” to regenerate the body (detox cures or practice “detox gestures” each week such as an evening of monody or moments of intermittent fasting/day or half-day of juice).

I think you're as convinced as we are of the link between beauty and nutrition. What 's your beauty ritual?

Absolutely. Regularity is key for me. So, I cleanse thoroughly every night with a milk or oil, then I use Alaena's cold-process mango soap, which I love! Then I always layer for hydration: toner + serum + cream morning and night. Always use an SPF during the day, and I leave a hydrating mask almost every night while I do something else. The ++ hydration has saved my skin ;)

You run Nutri Glow training courses online, can you tell us a little more?

Nutri-Glow is a 6-week online healthy eating and natural beauty program. It includes a full month of menus, recipes, and shopping lists, in addition to classes and practical sheets. It's aimed at all women who want to learn how to glow from the inside out through a better lifestyle, with a focus on a healthy diet that balances the body and nourishes the skin and hair. We know that the contents of our plates and the quality of our skin, for example, are closely linked, and to optimize everything, I offer support to work on the inside AND the outside. A whole week is dedicated to external beauty with protocols, product selection, dietary supplements, expert advice, DIY, etc.

It's a beautiful community of women that's growing successfully! It's great to be able to support women in this way, they follow at their own pace from the comfort of their homes, and I also organize online group coaching sessions and once or twice a year a meeting where we meet in person to exchange ideas. The last time, for example, was in the form of a very "green" 3-hour conference and brunch in Paris. These moments are great for creating connections, moving forward better together, and getting inspired!

What motivates you every morning?

Love for my son and my loved ones, and my work! I am passionate about what I do and the interactions with the people I support, for example.

You grew up in Sweden, what did this culture bring you?

Connecting with nature. It's innate for us; we need it to stay balanced. I love Paris, but I try to get my dose of greenery regularly to soothe my nervous system ;)

Why did you choose to come and settle in France?

I came to work in fashion in 2006! I was 20 years old and wanted to experience something different, learn another language and Paris seemed to be the obvious choice for fashion and language. But I didn't stay in fashion for very long, it wasn't for me I think I felt it very early on... I may not have planned to stay in France for years at the start, but I met my husband at the time and today, 12 years later Paris has become my city.

What are your favorite places in Paris?

Luxembourg Park, Palais Royal for strolling and having tea, Judy for healthy brunches and lunches, Soya for green dinners with good natural wine and a very cozy setting, L'hôtel Particulier in Montmartre to "escape" while staying in Paris, Atelier Nubio for juices and the selection of ultra-specialized products, Delphine Langlois for massages and facials, Yoga Village to practice yoga with Klara, Paola or Benoit and the Bois du Boulogne for running in the morning :)
