Dive into the world of Charlotte Leonardi, a passionate photographer and inspiring woman.
Who are you?
My name is Charlotte, I'm 37 years old and I've been a photographer in the maternity world for almost 10 years.
Married and mother of 2 daughters, we live in the countryside in the south of France.
Behind your lens, you gently and sensitively capture women at a special moment in their lives: motherhood.
What brought you to this?
For as long as I can remember I have always been fascinated by pregnant women.
When I was little, I painted and drew a lot of rounded bellies in profile.
I didn't have a very pretty pencil stroke, but I remember painting a large, multi-colored picture of a pregnant woman, and it's still hanging in my godmother's house today! I don't remember how old I was, and it's not the most beautiful of paintings, but it says it all.
It's a state that upsets me and inspires a lot of things in me, but I couldn't say what the starting point of all this is because it seems so far away.
Alaena is the story of a dermatologist mother who strives to offer the best to her three daughters. Thirty years later, together they have created a new vision of cosmetics, with values of transmission and complementarity.
Mother of two daughters, what do you want to pass on to them through
above all?
The values that matter most to me are kindness, empathy, and respect for others. I would like them to grow up with this common thread, which I believe is the most important in life.
And then tell them often that nothing is serious as long as we are healthy.
What is your relationship with beauty, skin, body, and aging?
Clearly not easy, I'll be honest.
I don't like seeing myself age on the outside at all, but with age I like who I'm becoming on the inside.
The maturity of approaching forty makes me feel much more fulfilled than I did at 20.
Every day I take care of my skin and try to fight the signs of aging as best I can with masks and peels.
Feeling good about yourself and loving yourself is a good fuel for moving forward in life.
A photo shoot that moved you, tell us about it.
The last one.
I had a young mother, Charlotte, mother of two little girls, who crossed France to come and see me.
Charlotte lost her mother at the age of 22 to triple negative breast cancer.
As a precaution, she will soon have to undergo a double mastectomy and together we said goodbye to these breasts during a photo shoot.
She still had milk coming out of her breasts and it was a very powerful moment.
A truly moving session that I will never forget.
Thank you Charlotte🤍
