3 good reasons to clean your skin with soap

1 - The soap is suitable for all skin types

Dr. Sylvie Peres: I designed the Mango & Avocado Soap with a very rich fatty phase containing mango butter and avocado oil. Also enriched with donkey milk, without essential oils, it is perfectly suited to atopic skin and the fragile skin of babies.

What if I have acne?

Dr. Sylvie Peres: Soaps are alkaline and the skin is acidic, gentle cleansing with a cold saponified soap will help rebalance the skin's pH to eliminate sebum and regulate the skin microbiota , because we know that this is disrupted in acne. Little by little, the skin will regain its balance and radiance.

2 - It is environmentally friendly

Used for thousands of years, solid soap is skin-friendly and quickly biodegradable. It's part of a zero-waste approach and environmentally friendly with its recyclable cardboard packaging.

Liquid formulas dry out the skin and cause eczema or dartre (slightly scaly, whitish patches, more visible on the arms where the gel is applied directly). Generally made with Syndets, a contraction of non-biodegradable synthetic detergents, they resist treatment in wastewater treatment plants and are the cause of chemical pollution in the oceans (thick yellowish foam that we see everywhere on our coasts). Now there are liquid cleansers based on sugar cane or coconut, they are biodegradable but dry out the skin just as much.

3 - It is made in France

Our Mango and Avocado Soap is made in the Pyrenees, a few kilometers from our offices, using a traditional cold saponification method . With Alaena, you are participating in a responsible project, committed to respecting people and the environment. We have carefully selected our raw material suppliers for the quality of their work and their ecological sensitivity.

How to store soap?

Dr. Sylvie Peres: Soap perfectly illustrates the transition to a minimalist ritual , so we must also change our storage habits. Unlike industrial soaps that require no attention, a cold saponified soap contains no texturizing agents or preservatives. For maximum conservation, we recommend placing it in a dry place on a soap dish , or on a glove, away from splashes. It is important that the soap dries to prolong its use.

How should it be used?

Dr. Sylvie Peres: For effective cleansing, I recommend doing a double cleanse in the evening.

As a reminder, double cleansing helps to thoroughly remove makeup, sunscreen filters and impurities accumulated throughout the day.

First step : apply the cleansing oil , this cocktail of vegetable oils will provide the skin with effective and gentle makeup removal.

Second step: the Mango & Avocado Soap eliminates the remaining impurities and leaves a light veil of moisture for healthy, purified skin before bed.
