Why, as a dermatologist, do you recommend a minimalist ritual?
Dr. Sylvie Peres: We know from medical experience that simple protocols are best followed. I myself want a simple, quick, and effective ritual, always lacking time, and that's the lot of many women today. So I designed products that are highly effective and self-sufficient. Gentle cleansing in the shower in the morning for face and body for the whole family using a biodegradable soap that does not pollute the ocean. A cream that provides everything the skin needs depending on its type.
When I became aware of environmental problems, I reformulated Galen's cerate, which has always been used by dermatologists, with pharmacists. This hot emulsion contains only moisturizing active ingredients: beeswax, rose water, glycerin, sweet almond oil. I have been able to verify its effectiveness in my practice; it repairs the driest skin. I therefore started from this principle for the formulation of our moisturizing creams , drawing on biodiversity to respond to each problem: reactive or allergic skin - combination to oily skin - anti-aging. Then, depending on the time available, you can complete the ritual with additional treatments.
Is a minimalist ritual more environmentally friendly?
Dr. Sylvie Peres: Limiting the number of products in your bathroom allows you to focus on what's essential, to listen to your skin by eliminating the unnecessary. It's also a good idea to finish one product before starting another.
