Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Lena Baltazard and I have been living in the Basque Country in Guethary for 21 years now. I started making ceramics about thirty years ago. I trained and then perfected my skills for a while before setting up my first workshop/shop in the Lot department and then I settled in the Basque Country.

Working the land, what has it taught you about yourself?
Working the land is a true joy! It's a passion that nourishes me in every way. I also love the contact with the customers who have been coming to see me for 20 years!

Where do you find inspiration?
I nourish myself by observing nature, I often visit exhibitions, galleries, cities... And of course my Swedish origins, I often return there to recharge my batteries.

What is your relationship with beauty?
I've always loved simple, natural beauty. For me, beauty is pure, calm, and free from distracting excess. That said, I also appreciate exuberance! But in others...

What does Alaena inspire in you?
Alaena suits my tastes for simplicity and efficiency. At the Alaena Spa, there's a gentleness and silence that I like. Sylvie Peres has been following me as a dermatologist since I started in the Basque Country, and she's always given me good advice regarding my skin. She also inspires me a lot when it comes to ecology.

What is your ritual?
The Alaena products that I like and use regularly are the sensitive skin moisturizer after cleansing the face with the cleansing oil and then the soap . I just discovered the fruit acid peeling , very gentle for my reactive skin. I apply it after the moisturizing mask . And I'm a fan of the nourishing oil for the body and face. I also use the tinted sunscreen whenever I go out in the sun!
