Villa Sion in Biarritz is home to the new headquarters of Alaena Cosmétique, a work and living space to accommodate the Alaena Cosmétique team. Renovated by the Gardera-Pastre architectural studio, the villa, listed as an exceptional building under the Remarkable Heritage Sites, is located within a public park in the renowned Beaurivage district.
Designed like a cave, echoing the curves of the Alaena Spa , the showroom showcases the products in our range. True to our values, the renovation was carried out using environmentally friendly materials such as carpet made from recycled fishing nets, and the furniture was manufactured in the Basque Country by the Alki and Sokoa workshops.

Alki Alki is a furniture workshop founded in 1981 in Itsasu, a small village in the Basque Country, in a rural, little-industrialized environment. It was to try to remedy this that the company was created on the initiative of five friends who united their ideas, their strengths and their hopes. Imbued with its ancestral and technological know-how, Alki today offers a contemporary interpretation of conviviality and distributes its products throughout the world, participating in the design of numerous spaces. |
Paper lighting and dividers For Molo Design, paper is a way to shape space and light. Taking a blank sheet of paper and giving it value through creative expression has a long history in literature, music, art, and architecture. There's a profound magic in paper's potential to become anything you imagine. To celebrate the importance of paper in Molo's designs, and to pay homage to all those who transform this humble material into something precious, the studio created these flexible paper walls and cloud-like pendant lights. |
Durable carpet by Ege Carpets
Sustainability has always been part of the DNA of Danish company Ege Carpets, which is committed to manufacturing more sustainable products through a more eco-friendly production process. For example, the carpet is made from abandoned fishing nets—which account for 10% of all ocean waste—and the tile backing is made from used plastic bottles.
A new chapter for the Alaena team
Five years after its creation, Alaena Cosmetics is opening a new chapter with this new living and working space. The Alaena team operates in a space designed by architects and craftspeople, fostering creativity and exchange.
