Alaena's Slow Living Selection #Week 5

 Tuesday, April 14

Alaena's feathers: Gabriel Tallent , " My absolute darling ".

At fourteen, Turtle Alveston roams the woods of the Northern California coast with a rifle and a pistol as her only companions. She finds refuge on the beaches and rocky islets, traveling for miles. But while the outside world opens up to her in all its immensity, her family universe is narrow and threatening: Turtle grew up alone, under the thumb of a charismatic and abusive father. Her social life is confined to middle school, and she pushes away anyone who tries to penetrate her shell. Until the day she meets Jacob, a prankster high school student whom she both intrigues and fascinates. Driven by this budding friendship, Turtle decides to escape her father and plunges into a one-way adventure where she will risk her freedom and survival.

A number of shapes are randomly placed on the boards. One, four, or all... there are no rules. Except the laws of chance. This is how impromptu compositions are created by a spontaneous act; it could be a daily ritual. An idea inspired by the work of Jean Arp, in which chance played an important role.
