As a dermatologist, I often see pregnant women in consultations with fragile, less beautiful than usual skin, and acne. Here's the routine I recommend to my patients.
to clean
For cleansing, I recommend a cold-process soap without essential oils, such as our Mango & Avocado Soap for face and body. It will also be suitable for baby's bath later on.
moisturize
To treat imperfections, I recommend applying Combination Skin Moisturizing Cream in the morning to skin that has been previously cleansed with soap.
exfoliate
I also recommend doing a Fruit Acid Peel 1 to 2 times a week to limit the appearance of imperfections.
to treat
Finally, in the evening before going to bed, I recommend our anti-blemish solution , I formulated it without essential oils and like the rest of the Alaena range it is free from endocrine disruptors. Its natural composition offers a complex of flower acids and fruit acids for a retinoid-like effect, sebum regulation, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action and microbiota regulation.
Apply it to the affected area after cleaning and drying. Leave it on overnight.

protect
I recommend applying sunscreen like our SPF 50+ Sunscreen to minimize acne scars and prevent melasma (pregnancy mask).
Food
I recommend a healthy, balanced, organic diet .
It will be varied according to the seasons for a natural detoxification of the liver. Avoid foods with a high glycemic index and ensure an optimal intake of vegetable and animal protein. Balance your lipids, especially omega 3, important for the skin and brain development. Consume plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, without forgetting legumes. Buy them dry and soak them for 24 hours; this is very important for your microbiota and that of the child.
Optimize your intake of iron, folate, mineral salts, and B vitamins. Supplementation is especially necessary for B6, which prevents spina bifida. A healthy bowel is essential for these nutrients to be absorbed.
Drink quality water – filtered or mineral – not contained in plastic.
I insist on fresh foods with an organic label that protects against pesticide residue. They will brighten your complexion, but above all, they prepare you, your child, and the adult they will become healthy.
I obviously recommend having fun and listening to yourself, it's up to you to find the right balance :)

At Alaena, being respectful of your health and the environment is part of our DNA because it is essential for our health and that of our children. However, this is not simple and requires monitoring at every stage of the product development process, from sourcing raw materials, through manufacturing with waste control, to the finished product and its packaging. Only an external certification body guarantees this and protects against greenwashing.
Alaena's quality charter excludes more than sixty cosmetic ingredients.
As a precautionary principle, we stay ahead of cosmetic regulations. Our product formulas are among the most skin- and environmentally friendly on the market (no parabens, synthetic fragrances, chemical preservatives, mineral oil, silicone, or ethylene oxide derivatives).
