Frequently asked questions:

What is a facial peel ?

Peeling is a treatment inspired by professional methods practiced by dermatologists and cosmetic doctors. It eliminates dead cells present on the surface of the skin.  A peel can be more or less deep depending on needs.

THE fruit acid peeling , superficial peeling, works thanks to alpha-hydroxy acids naturally extracted from sugar cane (glycolic acid), orange and lemon (citric acid), and blueberry (lactic acid).

Its action accelerates cell regeneration, capillaries are dilated and deliver more oxygen. The synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid is boosted. The skin is more hydrated, plumped up, it regains its radiance.

This treatment is particularly suitable for dull skin, mature skin, but also oily skin, prone to acne.

What is a superficial peel ?

To brighten your complexion, your skin needs to eliminate the buildup of dead cells.

There are three main types of dermatological peels  : superficial, medium or deep peels. Superficial peeling remains the most commonly used.

THE superficial peeling with fruit acids helps to give radiance to the complexion and reduce facial spots. Indeed, alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are acids often used in dermatology.

We recommend favoring a natural origin for these acids. For example, glycolic acid from sugar cane, tartaric acid from grapes, mandelic acid from almonds, citric acid from citrus fruits, malic acid from apples or lactic acid. With these acids, the elimination of superficial cells helps stimulate the production of collagen because they have moisturizing and stimulating properties. They are often used to combat acne, pigmentation disorders and skin aging.

Chemical or mechanical exfoliation ?

There are two types of scrubbing  :  mechanical scrubbing  made of natural or synthetic grains, and  chemical exfoliation, based on acids or enzymes, also called peeling.

You may be used to using scrubs with grains, but did you know that most of them contain plastic microbeads?  ?

Exfoliation with plastic grains, called polyethylenes, is actually very polluting for our planet and our biodiversity. For all skin types, favor natural exfoliating agents such as sugar, sodium bicarbonate, apricot kernel powder, as in our All-apricot scrub , or rice powder for example. They do not pollute the water and are very gentle on your skin.

Mechanical exfoliation is particularly recommended for thick, dry and flaky skin. Sensitive skin can also appreciate an exfoliation if the grains are soft and fine.

For acne-prone skin, we recommend chemical exfoliation based on acids.

A body scrub before hydrating ?

Exfoliation is an essential body treatment. It removes small dead skin cells and facilitates the regeneration of new cells. Be careful, however, not to scrub sensitive areas such as the neckline and bust too hard. It should not attack your skin, only facilitate the elimination of surface cells.

After the cleaning skin, it prepares the skin for the application of a moisturizer. With external aggressions (sun, cold, pollution, clothing) and age, the skin becomes thinner and dehydrates quickly.
