Getaway to Panama with Liora Basse, photographer

Discover the world of photographer Liora Basse during a trip to Panama, her beloved country where she goes to recharge her batteries every year. In this article, Liora shares her travel essentials and her sublime shots of Veraguas Beach at sunset.

What is your connection with Panama?

My parents have lived there for several years. I go there every year. It's a magical place in the middle of the jungle. I'm very attached to this place, I never get tired of it, and I have lots of memories there. Plus, this year was a very special year because it was our first trip with our son.

Tell us about a day on vacation in Panama...

We get up very early, spend the whole morning at the beach, surfing and now building some sandcastles. In the afternoon, we stay in the shade, usually I take the opportunity to do yoga. And we end the day with a beer at sunset and cooking.

What is your latest artistic crush?

My latest mega crush is the Luna Luna project,
It is an amusement park created in 1987 by André Heller.
Many artists participated in the creation of the attractions (Ferris Wheel, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Dali, David Hockney, Miles Davis)
The project closed the same year and the coins disappeared from circulation!
Until last year, when Heller, his son, and Drake found the works.
They are restoring them and I think they are going to have an exhibition.

You've been working with us since the brand was created. What do you think is the secret to our alchemy?

I think we share the same vision on many subjects. Whether it's cosmetics or aesthetics, we have the same tastes, and the enthusiasm to create beautiful things when we meet at each shoot.

Finally, we have similar lives, which we share with pleasure when we meet!

Can you tell us about your Alaena ritual?

It stays almost the same all year round!

I wash my face with soap morning and evening.

I then apply the anti-aging cream morning and evening, massaging it into my face. In winter, I sometimes apply a light layer of the mask and leave it on overnight.
